# Truth Beam pix2pixHD `truth_beam_2048_1024`, January 2025: emission-to-recording generator and multiscale discriminator

Hoy. This is the model card for a pix2pixHD run from January 2025, published as a historical artefact of the
Truth Beam programme: a conditional GAN whose generator renders a camera recording from a projected emission
pattern, with a three-scale discriminator over concatenated (emission, candidate recording) inputs.

## What is in this release

| object | count | bytes | note |
|---|---:|---:|---|
| `5_net_D.pth` | 1 | 33,132,284 | multiscale discriminator, `num_D 3`, `n_layers_D 3`, `ndf 64` |

| `latest_net_G.pth` | 1 | 730,836,542 | |
| generators in all | 75 | 54,812,721,262 | |
| `opt.txt`, `loss_log.txt`, `iter.txt` | 3 | 267,054 | the options as written by pix2pixHD (1,127); per-100-iteration losses, epochs 1 to 371 (265,921); `371` and `0` (6): the run stopped at epoch 371 of a planned 384 (`niter 256 + niter_decay 128`) |
| `gallery/index.html`, `gallery/images/epoch{001..371}_{input_label,real_image,synthesized_image}.jpg` (the run's `web/` directory) | 1,114 | 147,307,400 | the training gallery: one input, target and synthesis per epoch |
| data objects in all | 1,267 | 57,445,254,690 | |

Every object is listed with its SHA-256 in `_control/SHA256SUMS` and `_control/MANIFEST.jsonl`. The epoch-370
pair is the one named in the programme's provenance record: `370_net_D.pth` SHA-256
`f53e71cc46cd16fc9711f486b80aab8b1822a2226a149704e8fbfd3497ce130a`, `370_net_G.pth` SHA-256
`1dde59ce2cfae0739ad89e74866aea638efff895a2b990c68f2dfc7bde92d25f`. All 150 recovered checkpoint files are
included, so the saved checkpoint trajectory can be studied.

## Direction, inputs and targets

The training gallery settles the roles. `input_label` is the projected multicolour emission pattern; `real_image` is the camera recording of the scene under that pattern;
`synthesized_image` is the generator's rendering of the recording from the pattern alone. The generator is
trained to render a recording conditioned on an emission pattern. The discriminator structurally scores
concatenated (emission, candidate recording) inputs under the LSGAN real/fake objective. This release makes no
claim that its score verifies emission-recording correspondence.

Options (`opt.txt`): `loadSize 2048`, `fineSize 512`, `resize_or_crop none`, `no_flip`, `no_instance`,
`label_nc 0`, `input_nc 3`, `output_nc 3`, `batchSize 2`, `fp16`, `lr 0.0002`, `beta1 0.5`, `norm instance`,
VGG and GAN-feature losses on (`lambda_feat 10`), least-squares GAN, `save_epoch_freq 5`.

## Training data

The original training corpus is not recovered. The recovered options and loss-log cadence are consistent with an
apparent 384 paired samples per epoch, but they do not identify the source sessions or frames. The gallery
establishes the paired roles and shows the masked author before the bookshelf scene. The exact source frames,
exporter invocation, preprocessing script, pix2pixHD revision, random seed and hardware are not recovered. The
30 July 2026 cross-scene, cross-year evaluation is outside the scope of this artefact card and belongs to a
separate evaluation record.

## Measurement

This is an artefact and provenance release. Training-time losses are telemetry, not verifier-performance
metrics. No claim is made about correspondence verification, in-corpus performance, or cross-rig, cross-scene or
cross-performer generalisation. The training-time losses are in `loss_log.txt` (final printed values at epoch
371: `D_real 0.251`, `D_fake 0.512`, `G_GAN 7.959`, `G_GAN_Feat 5.069`, `G_VGG 1.375`).

## What this release does not claim

No performance claim of any kind. The Phase G AUROC results come from a different model family on the 2026
sessions and do not measure these checkpoints. The training corpus, the preparation script, the seed and the hardware are not
recovered.

## Likeness and rights

The gallery frames show the author alone, masked, before the bookshelf scene. He expressly authorised
publication of this gallery on 6 September 2026. All rights reserved. Publication permits inspection and
independent verification under rights arising by law. Open-source licence: none. Patent licence: none.

## Log

| Version | Date | Author | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.6 | 2026-09-06 | BOSUN | Third audit correction (Sol, 6 Sep 03:40): "All 150 recovered checkpoint files are included"; Log ordered newest first. |
| 0.5 | 2026-09-06 | BOSUN | Second audit correction (Sol, 6 Sep 03:15): emission described as the projected multicolour pattern (its derivation is not recovered with the corpus); gallery rows carry the published `gallery/` paths; "saved checkpoint trajectory"; the Phase G sentence says those results do not measure these checkpoints; the "every claim names its file" sentence removed. |
| 0.4 | 2026-09-06 | BOSUN | Audit correction (Sol, 6 Sep 03:00): exact per-object sizes; training corpus stated as not recovered, with the 384-pair cadence as apparent only; discriminator described structurally with no verification claim; measurement section limited to telemetry; gallery scene and authorisation date corrected. |
| 0.3 | 2026-09-06 | BOSUN | Xathal, 00:35: "Me in mask is fine. Publish that all." All 75 generators join the release; the gallery ships. |
| 0.2 | 2026-09-06 | BOSUN | Limited this artefact card to checkpoints, provenance and scope; the cross-scene evaluation belongs to a separate evaluation record. |
| 0.1 | 2026-09-05 | BOSUN | Drafted from `opt.txt`, `loss_log.txt`, the Titan SHA-256 list and the epoch-370 gallery triplet. Not published. |
