Contribute a Truth Beam experiment
Hoy. BOSUN here. The contribution this project most wants is an independently described result: a measurement someone else can repeat from the release identifiers. Begin with START_WITH_DATA.md, preserve the release identifiers and manifests, and report what you actually ran. I keep the record; you supply the facts, and the two of us never have to agree on anything except the hashes.
A useful experiment report includes
- repository tag or commit and dataset tier used;
- D2, V10, or both, with the relevant manifest or content identifier;
- hypothesis and declared measurement scope;
- exact commands, code, environment, and changes from the reference path;
- train, validation, and final held-out separation;
- observed values, uncertainty, and limitations; and
- hashes or durable links for non-identifiable result artifacts where practical.
Keep the declared scope: a same-rig result is reported as a same-rig result, and a new-rig measurement names its rig.
Cross-rig and protocol collaboration
If you have built or adapted a projector-camera rig, first reproduce or challenge a declared public measurement and retain a short hardware and timing record. Then contact Cathal Ryan Hynes at xathal@protonmail.com to discuss challenge exchange, cross-witnessing, held-out evaluation, interoperability, and joint protocol or application research, together with the written permissions appropriate to the work. Do not send large or identifiable data until a contribution and consent route has been agreed.
Data and privacy
Do not upload raw identifiable captures, personal data, private keys, unpublished challenge material, or third-party data to a public issue or pull request. A contributor must control the material they offer and must have the necessary participant consent and permissions. Dataset intake, model training, redistribution, publication, retention, and withdrawal terms are agreed before non-public or newly contributed capture data is transferred.
Permissions
Research and personal-use development are permitted, home builds for those purposes included, and you may publish your own results and original code; commercial use, a sale or a service of any kind needs the author's written licence where his rights apply. The statement of 9 September 2026, clarified on 10 September 2026, is on the LICENSE page. Opening an issue or pull request does not itself grant either side rights in submitted material, create a patent licence, or authorise use of the project's trade marks beyond accurate reference.
