# One Look Is All You Get: a preregistered single evaluation of a frozen coupling verifier on a sealed 288-row projector-camera take

Status: **PASS** (verdict computed 2026-09-06T20:56:18Z; run 7032c5bfbdc445029d1ff3025212c7a1; opening validated: True; look consumed: True).

## What was tested

The exact integer coupling model proved in the ZeeBeam joined relation (trained-r32 PTQ-v2) was applied once to every row of the
288-row verification take recorded on 22 August 2026 immediately after the 712-row development take, same apparatus, subject
and room. The pre-registration records this take as previously unopened by the evaluation programme; this opening run started at
2026-09-06T20:55:44Z. The evaluation program, its acceptance criteria and its donor maps were frozen before the opening (freeze digest
`8e95845bdacb0a95973ed2fb106ec8ef711a8402271c55d01bf2b687bd02a03f`, 32 pinned files; see `package_as_frozen/PREREG_one_look.md`, version 13). The opening was authorised
by one owner-desk sentence recorded in the owner journal at 2026-09-06T20:52:42.253272+00:00 (event `5580618f41225055074c0f2f4fba6add73964fc300c7bfbd12b5df9e76251501`), cited in
`run/OWNER_OPENING_EVENT.json` and re-resolved by the program before it read a row; the exclusive claim `run/CLAIM.json` was written
at 2026-09-06T20:55:44Z.

## Frozen criteria and result

| criterion | frozen requirement | far map | near map |
|---|---|---|---|
| AUROC | at least 0.95 | 0.999879 | 0.997782 |
| false accepts (of 288) | at most 14 | 1 | 7 |
| false rejects (of 288) | at most 14 | 4 | 4 |
| reciprocal pairs correct in both directions (of 144) | at least 137 | 144 | 144 |
| shuffled-emission control AUROC | within [0.4, 0.6] | 0.498589 | 0.495973 |
| shuffled-emission control ordering rate, ties one half | within [0.4, 0.6] | 0.493056 | 0.496528 |

Integer numerator threshold 3,727,229, frozen before the opening. Coverage: 288 of 288 rows and
144 of 144 pairs in each map; integrity problems: 0; failed criteria: 0;
run errors: 0.

The frozen sentence earned: "The frozen trained-r32 PTQ-v2 function used in ZeeBeam's proof passed one preregistered evaluation on a previously unopened 288-row take from the same apparatus, achieving AUROC at least 0.95, at most 14/288 false accepts and 14/288 false rejects at integer numerator threshold 3,727,229, and correct ordering in both directions for at least 137/144 reciprocal pairs under each of the adjacent-row and 12-row mismatch maps; an equal-budget, float-scored shuffled-emission training control met the preregistered control bands."

## What this establishes and does not

The frozen function separated matched emission-capture rows from their donor-crossed rows on a take it had never seen, under criteria
fixed in advance, with both control AUROCs and directional ordering rates inside the preregistered [0.40, 0.60] engineering bands. It is
one take of the same apparatus, subject and room as the development take, recorded minutes later; it says nothing about another
apparatus, another room, another subject, liveness or adversarial resistance. The proof of the joined relation covers the development
take's anchored rows, not this take.

## Files

- `run/VERDICT.json`, `run/RUN_MANIFEST.json`, `run/main_records.jsonl` (288 rows: provenance digests, matched and crossed integer numerators, saturation, denominator), `run/control_records.jsonl` (288 rows: matched and crossed control logits), `run/errors.jsonl` (empty), `run/OWNER_OPENING_EVENT.json` (the citation), `run/CLAIM.json` (the exclusive claim receipt).
- `package_as_frozen/` contains the 32 files named in `FREEZE.json`, unchanged, plus `FREEZE.json` itself. The frozen parity fixture includes 72 development camera/emission pairs at 32x32 and one development primary pair at 256x256; it contains no verification-take images.
- The three record streams are unchanged and are bound by the original run manifest and verdict. The citation, claim, run manifest and verdict are public redacted copies: every `transcript_path` value is replaced by `[private desk transcript path withheld]`. Embedded citation and claim digests refer to the original private artifacts; `PUBLIC_EXPORT_MANIFEST.json` records original digests, redaction locations and public-copy digests. `SHA256SUMS` covers the 42 evidence files. The checksum file itself and the three publication controls under `_control/` are outside that inventory. Remaining absolute paths disclose the experiment's local filesystem layout.
